XBM Acquires MPS-Scotland
XBM Limited Continues Expansion with acquisition of Managed Print Solutions (Scotland) Limited.
Yorkshire based XBM Limited, one of the UK’s fastest growing managed print and sustainable office technology suppliers, today announced its continued expansion towards the goal of being a £30million turnover business with the acquisition of the assets and customers of East Kilbride based Managed Print Solutions (Scotland) Limited (MPS).
MPS (Scotland) has a longstanding and loyal customer base with huge potential, which makes their business a good fit for XBM as they seek to increase their presence across Scotland further with the assistance of the current MPS (Scotland) Managing Director, Ross Archibald, who will join XBM (Scotland) as Regional Sales Director.
Ross commented that, “We are happy to have agreed the sale to XBM, who we know have existing relationships with key partners, Ricoh and Epson. It will be my privilege to continue to serve our MPS (Scotland) customers and further grow XBM’s existing Scottish customer base.”
Following XBM’s 2021 rebrand, it announced plans to expand rapidly through new business and acquisitions and this is the third acquisition in just 10 months, moving them further towards their goal of being a £30million turnover business and the largest MPS supplier in the UK.
Following the successful completion of the acquisition of Epson and HP reseller iDoc Services Limited in August 2022 and the Apex Workflows customer base, in November 2022, another Epson reseller, the addition of MPS (Scotland)’s customers and assets to the XBM family of managed print and technology businesses will also be an excellent fit.
XBM is an Epson Platinum PartnerXBM is Epson’s second largest reseller in the UK by volume and one of only two Platinum Partners, a status Epson awarded based on a comprehensive set of criteria including product focus, expertise, sales, and the high level of support provided for customers.
Epson’s unique position in the MPS industry focuses on providing more sustainable print options for business. This is very much in focus due to the announcement that the planet will exceed the 1.5C temperature rise limit before 2027 because of the failure to adequately address climate change.
The business also has a long relationship with Ricoh and is a Ricoh Gold Partner, putting it in an ideal position to provide ongoing support to the MPS (Scotland) customer base. XBM businesses are also accredited by Kyocera, Sharp, and HP and are trusted resellers for other product and solutions providers including SMART, DocuWare, Square 9, MyQ, PaperCut, and InVentry.
XBM’s Managing Director, Richard Taylor commented, “Our acquisition of the customers and assets of Managed Print Solutions (Scotland) from Ross is one more step towards XBM’s goal of being the largest managed print supplier in the UK. I’d like to thank Ross for the excellent work he has done building the business and making the transition to XBM so seamless for his customers, whom we welcome into the XBM family and promise to continue to provide with excellent products and services.”
MPS (Scotland) customers will now have access to XBM’s sales, admin, and service teams spread across the country, working from offices in Newcastle, Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham, London, and now Glasgow too.
Focusing on sustainable solutions, XBM Limited provides print hardware and managed print solutions, interactive smart displays for business and education, and enterprise content management solutions.
